Exercise Lions Trek 23

Exercise Lions Trek 23 was a 9-day trek of Tour du Mont Blanc trail (TMB), organised by Lieutenant Pipa-Harding. It took the team through France, Italy and Switzerland.

The team consisted of 11 members from all ranks and all trades of the AGC. The team was coached by two experienced instructors who also work in the AGC, Lieutenant Colonel Lockwood and Sergeant Devlin, both AGC (SPS). The training allowed participants to gain the Summer Mountain Foundation qualification, this is the first step to being able to lead military groups.

Over 9 days the team covered over 175km with an elevation gain of over 8,764m, that’s more than climbing more than Scafell Pike every day!

There is always different types of opportunity for Adventure Training in the AGC for you to challenge yourself with.
